This series documents the activities of First Lady Cornelia Wallace, wife of Governor George Wallace, of the State of Ala. The governor's wife is involved in a large variety of activities ranging from participating in charitable organizations to representing the state on various boards and commissions to running the Governor's household. Included are Christmas cards, invitations accepted and declined, letters from shcool children, thank you notes, publications, reports, recipes, menus, itineraries and photographs. Subjects covered include acupuncture, charitable organizations, innaugurations, the Equal Rights Amendment, the 1972 presidental election, the Governors Mansion, stock car racing, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, "Women for Wallace" and national governors' conferences.
